Legal Aid Solicitor or Private Solicitor?
Legal Aid law firms undertake a valuable job in providing advice and assistance at the Police Station. The underfunding in Legal Aid means that Criminal Law firms are underpaid and in turn may not have the time or resources to give suspects a high level of service, particularly after the interview. They also tend to use Accredited Police Station Representatives who are not qualified Solicitors.
In the current climate of COVID-19 Legal Aid Firms may in certain circumstances advise suspects over the telephone rather than attend in person with their client. Challenging the Police in these circumstances is less effective due to the lack of physical legal presence. This also places the client at a tactical disadvantage, plus the level of service over the telephone is likely to be inadequate for detailed and/or serious offences.
Kelly Blake Legal offers tailored legal advice in a private capacity, giving clients a first class service when analysing and resolving legal issues.
There are no guarantees in Criminal litigation, but choosing the right Solicitor at the earliest opportunity will guarantee a better overall service which leads to better results.
